Biological Control of Plant Pathogens, with Special Reference to the Take-all Fungus in Suppressive Soils

Abstract

Biological control, broadly defined, includes the use of antagonistic microorganisms, the host plant, modified strains of the pathogen, or any combination of these agents to eliminate or suppress inoculum of the pathogen, prevent infection, or limit disease development. 廣義的生物防治包括拮抗微生物，寄主植物，病原菌之變異菌系或以上任何因子之配合應用，達到抑制病原菌之接種源，感染過程或病害發展的目的。許多傳統的生物防治方法，例如輪作，耕犁，淹水及添加有機物等已不適合現代的耕作制度，故必需尋求其他的防治對策。
