由於臺灣地區空氣污染情形日漸嚴重，為瞭解農業地區遭受由都市或工業區釋出之空氣污染物質的影響，本年度於全省設立24個空氣污染指標植物觀測區，以進行長期系統性的監測。
Air pollution in Taiwan is becoming a serious problem. In order to understand whether agricultural land has been affected by air pollutants emitted from metropolitan area or industrial parks, a network of 24 indicator plant plots has been established this year.
