Abstract
濱海地區二期作水稻每年都有穀粒大量變褐色，產量很低情形，各鄉鎮農民時常起來抗議表示是台中火力發電廠造成空氣污染所引起，因而對各有關單位造成很大之壓力。是否真的是火力發電廠的排放物所引起，或另有其他原因，必須有科學證據，才能化解其糾紛。
The second crop of rice in the coastal area of central Taiwan is always encountered with the problem of browned rice and low yield. Many farmers are protesting that this growth failure is caused by the pollutants from Taichung Fire Power Plant. Whether their protesting is right or not, it should have a scientific evidence to support it.
