The responses of a semi-dwarf indica rice, Cauvery and a tall local indica rice, Hasawi to different levels of nitrogen and plant spacings were evaluated in both the winter and summer crops of 1975 at Holeila farm in A1-Hassa Oasis, the main rice growing area in Saud Arabia. Highlights of this experiment are summarized as follows:
