稻細蟎為害水稻之初步觀察

Abstract

稻細蟎 (Steneotarsonemus spinki Smiley 1967 = madecassus Gutierrez 1967) 寄生本省水稻之葉鞘及穀粒內部，其與不稔症之關連性，雖眾說紛紜，尚待更進一步研究後加以澄清。然藉此初步研究所獲得之結論，水稻不稔症之主因，似應偏向於稻細蟎為害所引起。 Rice tarsonemid mite Steneotarsonemus spinki Smiley = madecassus Gutierrez was recently found to injure the internal surface of leaf sheath and cause sterility of grains of rice in Taiwan. In order to clarify the relationship between the mite and sterility of rice plant, some ecological observations have been carried out.
