臺灣棉花之品種改良

Abstract

本省光復後棉花品種改良，於民國41年台南麻試驗分所成立後始行展開工作，為迅速達成改良目的，改良方法分三方面同時並進，以引種馴化為主，兼及純系選種，雜交後代選育，至目前為止，由於十多年之選育結果，業經育成若干優良品種，其中已推廣或繁殖之良種，有陸地棉中絨類之Empire, Rex 及 Austin等。 By introduction method, more than two hundred varieties of cotton have been obtained from abroad. These varieties belong to upland cotton, (including long staple and medium staple), Egyptian cotton, and Indian cotton. Thirteen sets of variety test have been conducted for comparing yielding ability and qualities of these introduced cotton varieties.
