The objectives of this chapter were firstly to review the occurrence with respect to frequency, area, and the degrees for the most serious meteorological disaster, and secondly to propose strategies for reducing or even preventing the losses in crop production. In reviewing the damages from the past 40 years, the severity of crop losses caused by agricultural meteorological disaster was typhoon, flooding, drought and low temperature in order. Typhoon almost attacks Taiwan area every year and accounts for more than 70% of the total climate damages. Under the trends of global climate changing, it is necessary to evaluate the tendency of the occurrence of these disasters at our area in the near future. Furthermore, strengthening the research teamwork, establishing warning system, planning safety cultivation period and area for cropping, and constructing strategy for reducing climate damages should be a main target at present, and in the future as well.
