Abstract: 
傳統的果樹育種工作由於受到果樹的遺傳特性與生長習性之影響,往往成效不彰。生物技術的發展與應用則為果樹育種提供了新的方法與途徑,可望提昇品種改良之效率。本文就生物技術中的組織培養、細胞融合、RFLP分析、和遺傳工程等四大項目,探討其對果樹育種的應用潛力。
Cultivar improvement in most fruit trees has been difficult via conventional breeding techniques. Recently biotechnology has provided new approaches and possibility for fruit tree breeding, therefore, it is very possible to enhance the efficiency of breeding by using this newly developed tool. This paper presents some potential applications of biotechnology in fruit-tree cultivar improvement, including tissue culture, protoplast fusion, RFLP mapping, and gene transfer.
