1. 本項研究以引起黃麻苗腰折病病原菌Thanatepliorus cucurneris (Frank) Donk為研究對象，就該病原菌在土壤中之移動狀況，接種源之位置及密度對引發腰折病之能力加以檢討。
2. T. cucumeris在土壤下15cm處尚可生存鱉很化接種啊在土壞中之深度對本病原菌引起苗腰折病之能力有關。接種綜之位置愈深發病能力愈低。
3. T. cucumeris在土壤中因種植寄主植物可使表土內菌絲密度顯著增加25~30%。
Thanatephorus cucumeris (Frank) Donk causes serious damping off disease on jute in Taiwan. Its distribution in soil, inoculum placement and density in relation to pathogenicity were discussed in this paper.
Mycelial density at different depths in soil were measured by contact-slide method, and the pathogenicity of the fungus introduced at different depths were determined by the use of indicator plant.
T. cucumeris maintained a high mycelial density even at the depth of 15cm. The pathogenicicity of T. cucumeris was greatly influenced by the depth of its inoculum in soil. However, the pathogenicity was reduced when the inoculum was buried deeper.
After host plants were killed by T. cucumeris the density of mycelium of T. cucumeris in soil surface was significantly increased.
