在台灣有紀錄危害檬果的薊馬有 6 種，包括小黃薊馬 (Scirtothrips dorsalis Hood)、腹鉤薊馬 (Rhipiphorothrips cruentatus Hood)、花薊馬 (Thrips hawaiiensis (Morgan)) 、台灣花薊馬 (Frankliniella intonesa (Trybom)) 、檬果花薊馬(Megalurothrips typicus Bagnall) 和赤帶薊馬 (Selenothrips rubrocinctus (Giard))。近年來薊馬在檬果 (Mangifera indica Linn.) 上發生嚴重，造成檬果品質及產量下降。其中尤以小黃薊馬的危害更甚。為提供有效防治之建議，本文敘述檬果薊馬的分布、寄主、生活史及危害情形等生態資料，並介紹防治薊馬的方法及提供實驗室藥劑篩選之有效藥劑，期能有效解決現階段檬果薊馬的危害問題。
Six species of thrips, Scirtothrips dorsalis Hood, Rhipiphorothrips cruentatus Hood, and Thrips hawaiiensis (Morgan), Frankliniella intonesa (Trybom), Megalurothrips typicus Bagnall, and Selenothrips rubrocinctus (Giard) have been recorded as pests associated with mangos in Taiwan. In recent years, thrips have seriously reduced the quality and yield of mangos, and the damage caused by S. dorsalis is particularly serious. In order to solve the current problem, this paper describes ecological information such as the distribution, host plant, life history of mango thrips, injury to fruit they cause, control measures, as well as the effective insecticides under laboratory screening.
