Abstract: 
This report is based upon the observations of ecology and experiments of preventive measures of paddy borer, Scho3nobiies inceutulas walker in Chenglu and her
Vicinity, Szechuan China, during 1936-1943. Results of this study is given in below.
There are 3 species of rice borers, Which attacking rice plant, namely paddy
borer Schoenobius inceylulas walker, rice stem borer Chilo suppresalis WaLker and
noctuid borer Sesamia inferens Walker. Among them over 80% concerns with the
paddy borer. It has 3 generations a year, its life history is exactly fitting the cultivating period of the plant. Since the double cultivating system of rice has been established in South Szechuall, it appears 4 generations annually.
