Abstract: 
Several kinds of insecticides, such as Diazinon 60 % ec, Surnithion 50 % ec, Sevin 85 % wp, Folithion 20 % ec, Nankor 44 % ec and Meiton 45 % ec were tested for controlling banana mealybug in both laboratory and field by dipping and spraying method. Good intial effects were obtained from all of the tested insecticides in laboratory five days after dipping.
In order to evaluate the longevity of the insecticides, a field observation was made after application of the insecticides on banan pseudostems until two months. The results showed that Diazinon 0.05 %, Sumithion 0.05 % and Sevin 0.1 % were better in effectiveness both in laboratory and in field observed.
